The Spectra Series invites visual artists, artist collectives, and art facilitators to host a group exhibition in either The Medium’s Main Gallery or outdoor campus. This fund celebrates bold, innovative, and thought-provoking collaborative exhibitions with a minimum of three artists.

Amount: $4,500
Available Awards: 6 total; 3 indoor exhibitions + 3 outdoor exhibitions
Disciplines: All disciplines, including but not limited to Visual art, Film/Video/Animation, Fashion, Fiber Arts, Multimedia Visual Arts, Literature/Poetry, and Digital Arts are welcome
Space at The Medium: Main Gallery Wall (excluding Main Gallery Extension) or The Medium Exterior
Timeframe: 6 week minimum exhibition time with 3 week install/deinstall
Availability: 9/26/2023 – 6/26/2024

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Indoor proposed projects must fit within 4 feet of the Main Gallery wall to allow for audience access to the theater
  • Hardware, labels, hanging apparatus, and a/v equipment must be provided by the lead artist
  • Practicing artists, artist groups, non-profit arts and culture organizations, and for-profit creative entities are eligible to apply
  • Applicants do not need to be Arkansas residents to apply
  • The ratio of NWA artists featured in each exhibition must be no less than 50%
  • The majority of the funds will be awarded to recipients in Benton, Washington, Madison, Crawford, Carroll, and Sebastian of Arkansas
  • Previous Call for Curator recipients may not reapply for this fund

Perennial Meditation is an outdoor activation at The Medium that turns the entryway into a place of sanctuary, peace and internal reflection. It’s alluring to the senses of sight and sound inviting participants to congregate in groups while also offering a place to spend time alone day or night to meditate. This metal sculpture, curated experience is the culmination of the group’s meticulously planned and intentional designs displaying each individual’s artistry in a unified vision. Come to discover and accept your truths, finding a higher meditation to resonate in for the betterment of your life experience.
