Our project merges a CNC-carved hexagon wood sculpture with audio-reactive projection mapping. We will be crafting a large, intricate geometric structure from wood—a standalone spectacle where shadows and angles invite tactile engagement. We will also layer dynamic projections onto its surfaces, syncing light and motion with live music during events at The Medium.
While the full experience (projector/laptop-dependent) activates temporarily for performances, the wooden installation remains a striking centerpiece throughout the 9-week exhibition. Audiences witness a dialogue between physical craftsmanship and digital art: wood’s static beauty and geometric engraved patterns contrast with animations that pulse and fractal in real-time to sound, transforming the sculpture into a living entity during shows.
Hexagons—a symbol of unity in nature—anchor this collaboration, reflecting our belief in art’s power to bridge divides. Our project’s impact is meant to dissolve boundaries between tradition and innovation, creating shared moments of wonder. Pairing the 2 crafts with creative innovation invites the viewer’s curiosity to find creative expressions that aren’t contemporary.
