Groundwaves is a free, community-based program that brings together MCs and beatmakers from across Northwest Arkansas for open mics and one-on-one mentorship with legendary West Coast rapper Murs, with the goal of nurturing and spotlighting local hip-hop talent.

Since 2021, The Medium hosted Groundwaves, offering a unique blend of live performances and mentorship opportunities that helped artists develop their craft, expand their skills, and build lasting community.

The program concluded in 2024 with a live concert featuring beatmakers, producers, and artists from the Groundwaves community as part of the grand (re)opening of Luther George Park, the largest public park in downtown Springdale.
