WHO WE ARE

We are an inclusive space for expression, experimentation, and creative risk-taking led by a team of practicing artists. The Medium is built with the intention to adapt, respond, and evolve with the creative needs of our community.

VALUES

  • We believe everyone deserves to learn, grow, and advance through the artistic process.
  • We value collaboration and the exchange of different perspectives to support the creativity in all of us.
  • We believe there should be no technical, spatial, or social barriers between creatives and their vision, growth, and work.

The Medium is a radically inclusive venue for creative expression that offers affordable and equitable access to space for artists of all backgrounds.

MISSION

VISION

To facilitate inclusive participation, support, and progress by enabling connections for all people through the arts.

WHO WE ARE

CREATIVE EXCHANGE FUND

The Medium wants to make creative space available to everyone. We listen closely to our community’s needs and create opportunities that support artists at all levels. One of these is the Creative Exchange Fund (CXF), a program designed in partnership with the Tyson Family Foundation to support local, regional, and national artists. CXF is a platform for taking creative risks. It offers time, money, and free space, so artists can connect with their audiences and explore new ideas. Since 2022, CXF has distributed over $270,000 to help artists bring their projects to life in Downtown Springdale.

OUR HISTORY

Back in 2020, with support from the Tyson Family Foundation, we began as part of Creative Arkansas Community Hub and Exchange (CACHE), going by the name 214 by CACHE. In December 2022, after working closely with the community, we rebranded ourselves as The Medium. Since then, we’ve been following a legacy of art and theater in Downtown Springdale, occupying one of the longest-standing independent arts venues in Northwest Arkansas, providing affordable and accessible space for performances, rehearsals, meetings, exhibitions, and a whole lot more.
