My project, Lilith and Eve, is a musical that I’ve written over the past two years and is currently in its final editing stages. This project matters because it is a passion project of my own design that tells a story that I believe will resonate with many others.
The play features a minimum of 11 actors and offers a fantastical glimpse into the beginning of time, complete with angels, demons, and the first humans—most notably, the lesser-known story of Adam’s first wife, Lilith. It dives into universal themes such as life and death, love and romance, and the importance of unity and family. Throughout the production, audiences will encounter musical numbers that resonate with the many complex experiences of being a human. Enhancing the story development with thoughtful lighting and costumes, this production will truly bring the characters and their world to life.
Ultimately, I hope to challenge how audiences perceive good and evil, and the labels we place on others. By exploring the roots of division/separation and the dynamics of relationships—how they can evolve, sometimes for the worse, but ultimately for the better, with an open heart—I aim to foster and cultivate understanding and empathy. Additionally, a couple aspects that set my story apart are its queer undertones, framed within a Tragicomedy that creatively merges modern and classical writing styles.
