Luna J Fennell - February 26, 2025

“Guilt Free Creativi-Tea” is an event with something for everyone! Comprised of a full day of workshops focused on improvisational music, dance, poetry/spoken word, visual art, and more, participants will have an opportunity to explore manifestations of their own creative natures through a lens of curiosity and exploration, rather than criticism or self-judgement.

Together, people will explore the processes of creating and doing just for the sake of it, hopefully going out with more confidence in creation and a stronger sense of who they are as human beings. Also, there will be free tea available day… because who doesn’t love a warm bevy and some fun wordplay?! See you at the function! 🙂

FAQ

What is InnerSpace?

InnerSpace is a new program at The Medium that offers one free day in our Blackbox for creative and community-focused events or gatherings.

When are applications open?

Applications will open October 16, 2024 and close October 30, 2024.

Who is this for?

InnerSpace is open to artists, community groups, and innovators 18+ from Benton or Washington counties who need physical space to bring their ideas to life.

What types of projects will be considered?

We’re pretty open! Examples might include pop-up installations, exhibitions, performance rehearsals or programs, workshops, community events, or collaborative projects involving multiple creative disciplines.

Can we sell tickets to our events or programs?

Yes! If your project is selected, you are welcome to sell tickets, art, concessions, or merchandise and keep 100% of your sales.

How will the selection process work?

Innerspace applicants will be determined by a lottery system. All applicants will be assigned a number which will be randomly selected through an online generator.

There will be six numbers selected. A Medium team member will then reach out and schedule a meeting with each of the six applicants to coordinate your projects.

When are the projects expected to happen?

Selected projects will be hosted between February and June 2025.

Each participant will be offered one full day in The Medium’s versatile Blackbox space from 9am to 9pm on the last Wednesday of the month. Projects will be assigned one of the following dates from January through June 2025: 1/29, 2/26, 3/26, 4/30, 5/28, 6/25.

Why was the Inner Space program created?

It began with a desire to offer you free space at The Medium. With the support of the Committee for Belonging & Bridging, a collaborative initiative led by EngageNWA at the Northwest Arkansas Council we were able to pilot this new program. The Committee, which includes 20 organizations and community partners like The Medium, promotes inclusivity, diversity, equity, and a stronger collective sense of community across Northwest Arkansas.

Does The Medium have any additional equipment available to use?

We have a collection of in-house equipment that you’re welcome to use while on-site with prior approval. All equipment is based on availability at the time of your scheduled event. You will need to coordinate with The Medium staff to reserve this equipment in advance.

Each of the projects will receive:

+ The Medium’s basic A/V package (projector, screen, pair of speakers, 2 mics) and technical oversight.

+ Chairs, tables, and linens as available

When will I know if I was selected?

All applicants will be notified by November 14, 2024.

Are there any limitations to what's accepted?

There are some natural limitations to what’s possible given that the projects will be taking place indoors at The Medium. If you have questions about your proposal before applying, please contact us at themedium@cachecreate.org

+ No fire, no glitter, and no blood

+ No stage or stage panels will be provided

+ For performative events, pieces must be original or obtain proper rights

+ The Medium does not manage a box office. Individuals will be responsible for managing their own ticket sales and check-in.

+ No alcohol sales will be permitted without prior approval

+ No religious gatherings, political rallies or events
